AEX

On Thursday afternoon, September 24, the AEX stood at 1,107 points. This puts the index 6 points, or 0.45%, higher than last week.

Market Trends

On balance, the AEX has been moving sideways this month around the 1,100-point level. The index started the trading week calmly but then rose briefly. On Tuesday, the AEX reached 1,116 points, its highest level so far this week. The index then fell by approximately 1% and returned to its current level around 1,105 points.

In the absence of key macroeconomic data, the market outlook this week was primarily shaped by geopolitical developments in the Middle East and relations between the United States and China.

Outlook

For now, the AEX is moving in line with our forecast. According to our model, the index could first test the 1,085-point range from its record high of 1,124 points. After a possible rebound toward approximately 1,105 points, our base scenario anticipates a further correction toward 1,070 points.

For the longer term, the positive scenario remains intact. After this corrective phase, we expect the upward trend to resume, bringing the price target of 1,230 points back into focus.

The chart above shows the AEX’s price movement since early 2026, including our expected scenario.

Nasdaq Futures

On Thursday afternoon, September 24, the Nasdaq futures contract was trading at 30,425 points. This puts the futures contract 855 points, or 2.9%, higher than last week.

Market Developments

The Nasdaq futures contract started the week strongly and reached a new record high of 31,094 points on Wednesday. This marked an increase of approximately 5% over the course of just a few days.

Following the record high, a correction of about 2.2% occurred. The Nasdaq futures contract then reached a preliminary weekly low of 30,407 points.

Sentiment

The long-term technical outlook for the Nasdaq futures remains positive. In the short term, however, sentiment is uncertain.

Outlook

As expected, the Nasdaq futures have reached a new record high. Under our base scenario, there is room for a larger corrective move from the current level, which could bring the futures down to around 27,000 points.

After this correction, we expect the long-term uptrend to resume. This brings a price target of approximately 34,500 points into view.

Dow Jones futures

On Thursday afternoon, September 24, the Dow Jones futures contract was trading at 51,690 points. That is 80 points, or 0.15%, lower than last week.

Market Trends

The Dow Jones futures contract started the trading week on a positive note and reached 52,841 points on Wednesday, its highest level so far this week. The futures contract then fell by approximately 2.3% and returned to its current level around 51,600 points.

Sentiment

The underlying sentiment surrounding the Dow Jones futures remains positive, although there is still some uncertainty in the short term.

Outlook

According to our model, the Dow Jones futures may first test the 50,500-point level in the short term. From this zone, a recovery toward approximately 53,000 points is possible under our base scenario.

After that, we anticipate a new corrective move toward the 50,000 to 50,500-point range. From this area, the larger corrective phase could come to an end. This zone could then serve as a foundation for a new upward move toward the long-term price target of approximately 58,700 points.
