Economic Calendar: June 30 – July 4, 2025
Publication date: June 27, 2025
The week ahead: Labor figures US.
In Money Care's weekend bulletin, we present the overview of the (macroeconomic) events that could cause movement in stock markets.
Review of last week:
The week started out exciting with the U.S. attack on Iran but it soon became apparent that the situation was fortunately developing positively and relative calm has returned. The stock markets were already keeping fairly calm but ran up nicely again during the week. The price of oil did experience major fluctuations. The price of Brent oil first rose 20% only to fall 17% again.
The developments in the trade war between the U.S. and China and the EU are also positive. China is open to talks and the current tariff pause is likely to be extended. The EU is heading for a quick solution with the US.
Next week:
The coming week will be mainly dominated by the monthly labor figures (NFP) in the US. Note that these always appear on the first Friday of the month if that day is a trading day. Friday the US celebrates Independence Day and the stock markets are closed. By the way, this is already the case as of Thursday 1 p.m. The important labor figures appear this time at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Otherwise, no very important macroeconomic events are scheduled. Together with the positive developments on the geopolitical spectrum, it looks to be a relatively quiet trading week.
