It is Thursday, October 9. The AEX notes 963 in the morning session. That is 5 points (0.5%) higher than last week's reading.

What happened on the AEX in the past week?

The AEX opened the week positively at 963 and managed to rise vigorously in the following days to a new record high at 968. Then, on Wednesday, the AEX had to rebound briefly to its weekly low at 954. With the current level of 963, the upward trend has resumed, and the index is back at its level from Monday morning.

What is the expectation on the AEX?

The expectation remains positive, but our algorithmic system has lowered the price target from 1,050 to 1,035.

For the short term, our algorithm's most likely scenario is that the AEX will set a new record above 968. A close below 952 will allow the index to correct further to around 940 before continuing to rise to the 1,035 price target.

Below 880, the positive scenario expires and the AEX enters a neutral zone with an increased risk of further decline. As long as 880 holds, the positive scenario remains in place.

The Nasdaq futures are experiencing a positive week and set a new record high at 25,394 points this morning.

What is the expectation for the Nasdaq futures?

The expectation is positive with a price target of 26,500. The Nasdaq may experience a modest correction to around 25,000 in the interim. A close below 22,200 eliminates the positive scenario.
